shopping: i love/hate you!

I LOVE SHOPPING...

for Ava
for anything that has to do with my house or backyard
for shoes, perfume, jewelry, and bags
at office supply stores. I could go up and down the isles for hours.

I HATE SHOPPING FOR....

clothes!!!!

For the life of me I can't put an entire outfit together. I get overwhelmed. I hate trying things on. It all just takes a lot of energy. I tend to gravitate towards sweats and comfy T's.

Is this okay to admit being a girl and all? Anyone up for the job of personal shopper??

real life: unedited

What's been happening in my life lately you ask? THIS:

You may be asking yourselves if a rat and its family lives in my shower. No, no rats. It's my HAIR. I'm shedding so badly these days. This picture was taken after I got out of the shower this morning. I spend most of my time in the shower trying to detangle myself from its grip. Not only does my hair shed in the shower, but when I blow dry and straighten my hair, or when I decide to brush through my hair, or just all day long. It's all over the floor, on our clothes, in the carpet, on the babies, but HOPEFULLY not in our food. IT'S SO GROSS AND DRIVING ME CRAZY!! Anyway, just keeping it real with this post people.

not in balance

My life is feeling very unbalanced right now. This question is for you:

With things like blogging, FBing, cleaning, reading, driving people around, time for yourself, entertainment, family, TV, playing with children, making dinner, figuring out what to make for dinner, projects, finances, fun time, grocery shopping, staying in touch with people, work, watching movies, responsibilities, socializing, giving service, date night, GNO, spirituality, friends, getting ready for the day, making love, hobbies, new interests, organizing, down time, learning new things, teaching kids important things, quality time with spouse, quality time for self, relaxing, kissing and cuddling, exercise, relaxing, applying anti-wrinkle cream to your already aging and wrinkling eyes, not being self absorbed in ones life....and I'm sure oh so many other things that pull you in every direction, how do you do it??? HOW DO YOU KEEP YOUR LIFE IN BALANCE?

ROOT BEER: more than a drink

For anyone that has taken iron pills, you know what it can do to you......MAJOR constipation issues. I've been taking two a night, so you can imagine. Well, to be honest, stool softeners haven't done a whole lot for me. For whatever reason, root beer does the trick! Next time you're feeling plugged up, just pour yourself a cold one and wait for the magic to happen.

My little Lady Bug

Ava is obsessed with lady bugs. She wants to be one when she grows up, and was set on being one for Halloween. She now does this thing with her eyes where she half closes them because somehow she thinks she looks more glamorous doing that. So most of the pics I took she has half opened eyes.

almost 32 weeks

I have hardly any pictures of me pregnant this time around, so I made tyler take one the other night. I'm almost 32 weeks and so happy to be at this point! So happy the twins have stayed in this long, and hoping they will stay in a little longer........not TOO long though. =)

she always has me smiling...

Driving always gets such great conversations out of ava. The other day...

Ava: mom, (huge sigh), I REALLY wish I could slide down rainbows.

Instant smile for me.

We Are Having.....

2 GIRLS!!! I'm not going to lie, I was REALLY surprised about this! I had convinced myself that we were having 2 boys. If anything a boy/girl, but I knew there was at least ONE boy in there. Guess I was wrong again (same thing happened with ava.....I knew without a doubt she was a boy). 2 girls were the furthest thing from my mind. There was a little part of me that kind of wanted to cry for a bit when I found out there were no boys in there (the same exact thing happened with ava as well). Not that I'm NOT excited about having girls, but I think I was just getting so excited about my little boys and had started imagining them, that when I realized they weren't coming it made me a tiny bit sad. But, the more I think about 2 sweet girls, the more excited I get! Tyler and I are so interested to see what they will look like. Will they look anything like Ava? Will they look the same as each other or drastically different?? I just can't believe we are going to be a family of 3 girls!!! Kind of blows my mind!

me in all my glory

okay, i've had a couple of requests for a bump picture. There was no way i could post this on FB but i feel a little more at ease posting it here since i know you all really well. i really might be regretting this and be deleting it here in few hours, but here it is.... im a couple days short of being 16 weeks. *this was taken in the morning....and for whatever reason im not as big in the morning as i am at night.....so really, it sticks out even more.*

smiles all around

Ava is NOT always sweet, cute, nice, or cooperative. BUT, lately she has been bringing smiles to my face non stop! It's mostly when I see her absolutely enjoying life's simplest things. The way she plays in the pool with the biggest grin on her face like it's the best thing ever. The way she makes friends with a lady bug, and loves it like it's her new best friend. the way she gets up and dances when she hears a good song.....even if it is the closing hymn in sacrament meeting. how excited she gets to eat a popsicle.....the way she uses her incredible imagination when she plays make believe. AAAAH! lately i just can't get enough of this little girl. As cheesy as this is, she really has brought so much joy to my heart. I just sit back, watch and can't help but grin. It makes me want to live my life a little bit more that way.

SHOCK FACTOR OF MY LIFE!

Today i had an appointment for 1st trimester screening, where they do an ultrasound and a couple of blood draws to help test for gene deformities such as downs etc. Well as i was laying there getting the ultrasound with Tyler, I heard, "Oh, you're having twins!" WHAT?!?! tyler said, "are you kidding?!?!" but there, on the screen were two babies in my tummy. TWO! AH! We both shed a few tears, and were really giggly....most of which were probably nervous giggles. I think mostly we are in complete shock right now. It hasn't really set in. I'm a little scared, not gonna lie. How is my body going to stretch that big? How do I take care of TWO newborns?!?! I'm hoping there won't be any complications and things will just go smoothly. Unfortunately, I measured at about 10.5 weeks instead of 12 weeks were I thought I was. So my new due date is DEC 30, but they said to expect them in early december. They also said that the twins are going to be fraternal and not identical, which I'm kind of excited about. Anyway, my head is swirling and I'm not really sure if this is all just a dream that I will wake up from. This is mostly for me when I repeat that..... WE ARE HAVING TWINS!!!!!

what the what?!?!

It's already happening. my hips are spreading. the gut is getting bigger. SOME OF MY PANTS ARE TO TIGHT TO BUTTON! it's true. The first time around, with ava, i don't think i started showing until i was 4 1/2 months pregnant. People, im only 11 weeks! at this rate....well i dont even want to go there. i've had to take some of ava's small hair elastics...wrap them around the button of my jeans...go through the button hole, and back around the button to make some extra room for the tummy. Chubby is a word I find myself using quite a bit, as of late, to describe myself. chubby face....chubby arms etc. don't get me wrong, i am SOOO excited about this pregnancy, but really, I will be a lot more excited when I actually LOOK pregnant, and not like I just "let myself go".
